Shoes

Running shoes should be replaced when the heel starts to look worn and fore foot feels soft, usually after 300-500 miles. It's best to shop for new shoes after a run or later in the day. Your feet tend to swell as activity increases, so trying out shoes later in the day insures they will remain comfortable as your feet expand.

To make your visit most effective:

Bring in your old shoes so we can look at your wear pattern.

Tell us what type of running or walking you have been doing and want to do in the future. Tell us about future races and workouts.

Tell us about any current or old injuries that have affected your running or walking.

If you use orthotics, bring them with you.

Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to bend, stretch, and run.

Be prepared to spend a bit of time with us to try the various models that might work for you.
